Thankful: Day 12

12. I'm thankful we live where we do. We're within a couple hours from everything: The ocean, the mountains, eastern Washington... We're relatively safe from natural disaster. Yes, there is the possibility of an earthquake or volcanic eruption, but those things are so few and far between. Hurricanes, typhoons, tornadoes, floods... those happen in the same places every year. We're really very lucky here. Now if we could do something about all the Liberals...

Yesterday we took the kids to play in the snow (Logan's first time!). We drove to the White Pass ski area with our snow gear and a brand new sled and hit the slopes! Poor Owen learned the hard way that gloves are actually a good thing! He didn't want to put them on and soon discovered that his little hands were freezing! Unfortunately, that set the tone for our trip. He was less than enthusiastic about sledding or even playing in the snow. So we stayed for just an hour. Next time, I think he will listen to his mom and dad :)

Still had a wonderful day together as a family. We wanted to drive home through Rainier NP but the Stevens Canyon Road was closed for the season. We plan on heading back up to Rainier as soon as the snow play area is open. Can't wait!
