And There's a Part Two

I found out why I'm "selfish". Because I like to spend time with my extended family. What a crime to be close to your parents, sister, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. (Gee, I even wrote about how thankful I am for them. See Nov 4 below.)

I'm also selfish because one time I failed to properly thank someone for a birthday card. Just to give myself the credit that I deserve, once this was brought to my attention (about a month after my birthday), I called the person. I apologized about the delay and proceeded in thanking this person profusely for remembering me on my birthday.

When it comes to gifts or any type of kindness that someone shows me, I thank them. If I have a chance to thank them in person, I will. If not, I will send a note, make a phone call, or (depending on the recipient because some think this is rude) I'll email or send a text. And on the RARE occasion that it might slip my mind, read my other post and it might explain that I'M BUSY AND SOMETIMES FORGET THINGS.

And just for the heck of it: relatives of the person who thinks I'm so self-absorbed never say thank you. They've opened up Christmas gifts that I bought, toss the item aside without saying a word and then move onto the next. Good lord. Wonder if they're accused of being selfish as well.

Okay... I'm over it. I'm not letting this person get to me anymore. Not worth it.

Side note: several people have contacted me about my other post. Thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot.

Wait, so you're selfish because you didn't thank someone for sending you a birthday card? People aren't supposed to send cards expecting a thank you. They should send them just to be nice. Who IS this person?
