More Snow

On Saturday Chris said he was bored and followed his statement up with "let's go to Rainier today." We jumped in the car, stopped at Safeway to grab some goodies for the road, and took off. Chris insisted that we listen to Christmas music.

We didn't really have plans to play in the snow or anything; we just wanted to go for a nice drive. We passed Longmire and made our way to Paradise. There was probably a foot of snow at Paradise. It was bustling with snowshoers who were enjoying the first snow hikes of the season.

We wandered through the visitor's center and picked up a couple of keepsakes at the gift shop. We'd like to start patch collections for the kids to commemorate places we visit. We're also beginning to collect walking staff medallions. We think it would be fun to have a "traveling stick" that goes with us on road trips. We'll add medallions as we visit new places.
