Logan's Room

Finally, here it is. A post with pictures of Logan's room.

Our walls are gold and I really did not want to repaint them. So I set out to find bedding that would look nice against the wall color. Lo and behold, I came across this fantastic sports theme with colors that I love. I planned on painting a dark blue and red stripe around the wall but changed my mind when my fabulous cousin Kelley (who happens to be an interior designer) suggested baseball stitching. I believe my reaction to her idea was "that's awesome. I hate you." I LOVED the idea but knew it would be very time consuming to paint all that stitching.

Chris, who like me is a perfectionist, masked my lines for me. I decided to give Frog Tape a try since I was looking for clean, crisp lines. (I give Frog Tape a B+. It was okay but not perfect, although it worked WAY better than regular blue painter's tape. I ended up using a the trick I learned from HGTV, which gets an A for sure. My lines look amazing.)

White went on first, and then the blue. Finally it was time for the stitching. It took some time, but wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I'm happy with the way it looks. Here's what the bedding looks like. I love the reds and blues. The wall color isn't coming out well in these pictures. It looks much warmer in person. I'm not sure if I'm crazy about the way Logan's name came out. The font isn't my favorite, so I may re-do them. (Can you spot Owen in this picture? He was making sure the mobile worked.)
Here's a shot of the valance. Another reason I love this particular sports theme: no wimpy soccer balls.
I found some cool picture frames for the shelves (sports-themed of course) and Kelley found the sweet retro pennants. They finished the room nicely. The rocking chair doesn't match but it belonged to my late grandparents. I might switch the pad out for something navy blue or red.

So that's what Logan's room looks like. Owen is still enjoying his safari room, and I'm actually thinking of adding a lion on one of his walls. We'll see if I can find the time.

Love how it all turned out! And sorry for the suggestion - I should have known that you would do it and not make someone else do it, like I would have (especially 9 months pregnant!) ;-)

I forgot to tell you when I saw you...my Mom stumbled on to your blog the other day because she clicked off the link on my page and when she realized it was you, she read it and she is so impressed with Logan's room! She's probably wondering why ours doesn't look better, but she wanted me to tell you that she thinks it's amazing and you are super talented! I completely agree! :)
