9 Months

Today marks the beginning of my ninth month of pregnancy (36 weeks). Owen was born at 37 weeks after a 4-day stay in the hospital. So that's been a huge reminder of how close we really are to welcoming our new little guy. So far everything continues to look great, and I've even had a little surge of energy over the past couple days (most likely because Chris has been home!).

A couple days ago, I took Owen to McDonald's because I've been wanting to let him play on their toys. So Laura came along to help out because I had this fearful vision of Owen needing help and me getting stuck on the slide or something. The play area was full of kids which didn't deter Owen one bit. He jumped right in and played hard for about an hour. He stopped long enough to eat half of his Happy Meal and dip his entire arm in ketchup (hence the goofy all-blue outfit he ended up in). The toys were perfect for Owen's age and skill level and he didn't need much help, although Laura was always nearby because some of the older (rowdy) kids were making me nervous.

Chris took Owen to a car show/swap meet at the fairgrounds yesterday. I had planned on getting a few things done around the house, but it didn't happen. I planted myself on the couch and didn't move until Chris called to say they were coming home. I'm glad they got to spend some "guy time" together. I'm also glad that Chris didn't come home with another car. He's been talking about Barracudas lately. Ugh.
