Owen received a few gifts last night. That's the great thing about being a kid.. you get presents on non-gift holidays like Thanksgiving. The Dubes gave him a really cool Christmas cup, Grandma Kathy gave him the light-up police Skechers that we've had our eye on for a while, and my mom gave him a Hallmark ornament and a book where she could record herself reading the story.
And speaking of gifts, we started our Christmas Pajama tradition last night. I decided to do it on Thanksgiving rather than wait until Christmas eve so that Owen will be able to wear them up until Christmas.

My mom, Owen and I headed into downtown Seattle tonight for the Westlake tree lighting. We knew that the stroller would kill any chance of getting close, so we wandered around the mall for a while until the festivities were over, then headed outside to meet up with Chris, who was working with the bike unit. We made our way to Macy's so we could say hello to Paul (Kelley's husband), and then we hit Old Navy for some $5 fleece jackets. By this time Chris was back at the south precinct getting ready to work his regular shift, so we met him at Starbucks later on. We almost had to fight over the last cranberry bliss bar, but lucky for everyone a truck was in the process of delivering more. Owen sat at the table like a big boy (no high chair!) and we visited until Chris had to leave. Fun night.. we will try to head that way again before Christmas to wander and shop some more. (Kelley, let's meet up!)
