Owen's always been a great sleeper once he's asleep, but sometimes it takes a while to get him to go to bed. When Chris is home, they lay on the couch together until Owen falls asleep, and then we transfer him to the crib. When it's just me, I tend to wait until he's sleepy and put him in the crib awake. He'll play with his toys for a while, and will eventually fall asleep. Lately however, I've been able to put him in his crib wide awake and he'll just cuddle up with his blanket and and fall asleep in minutes. Since Chris works nights, he's not as familiar with the bedtime routine around here and was pretty surprised tonight to see me put Owen in his crib wide awake. I just said "watch". Sure enough, the kid was asleep in no time.
So here's my "awww" moment.. Chris came downstairs and sadly said, "Thanks a lot.. you took away my favorite time of the night. I like having Owen fall asleep with me on the couch, and now he falls asleep on his own." Chris then proceeded to tell me that naptime is HIS, and I better not mess with it! I told him no problem.. naptime can be his duty, and bedtime is mine :)
It's officially Thanksgiving, but being that it's just a few minutes past midnight, I don't have anything to write about yet. We're hosting a houseful of people for dinner, and we're looking forward to a nice relaxing day with family and friends.
