Now What?

We seeded our lawn today. We were only about 5 days behind our original goal so we're not too disappointed. My dad came over and helped us move dirt and rake. We brought in 125 yards of topsoil! Chris was able to move most of it with the bobcat. The weather is a little cooler than we'd like but I think the seed will be just fine. The front yard looks amazing and we're so happy with it.

However now that we're finished, we will have to find another project to occupy our time. We need to stain the fence and paint the shed but those projects may have to wait until spring unless we get lucky with a stretch of nice days.

Speaking of which, if you're one of those people who claim to love this time of year, I don't understand you. It's cold, wet, and the leaves are dying. I like trees to be green, and I like flowers in my yard. Warm weather makes me happy. This is the first October in 4 years that I haven't gotten to travel to someplace warm with palm trees, and I'm rather disappointed.

Owen's getting bigger and trying so hard to crawl. He has great upper body strength and can get his knees up under him, but putting those two together continues to frustrate him! He loves the sound of his voice and entertains us with the various noises he's learning to make. He is still a great pooper, and has now pooped 34 days in a row. Pretty amazing for a baby. There are probably a lot of adults who wish they were that regular. I'm not sure why I am counting the days. Perhaps there is something wrong with me.

Anyway we're leaving to go camping in the morning. Owen's gonna keep me warm.

I am one of those crazy people that love fall. I think it has some thing to do with the light and the memories of summer. Plus I think trees are never more beautiful than when they are changing from green to red (or yellow or whatever) Have fun camping! I am guessing that a cabin of some sort is involved. It would be darn cold to be in a tent!

Nope it's a tent. We're insane. But we have cold-weather sleeping bags (and Chris' body hair) to keep us both warm. Owen will be in the camper with Chris' parents... my first night without him :(

Brave lady! Both for the cold weather tenting and letting Owen be away from you. I don't think I let Andrew spend the night anywhere until he was 2. And only then because I was going to have Zane anytime and he would have to spend the night somewhere. I hate being away from then but I suppose just in the camper would be not too far :)

I can think of something that would occupy your time. Come on, get moving. Since we're not popping out a baby any time soon I need you guys to balance out our big zero so Grampa stays happy!
