We got home today from our final camping trip of the year. We met Terry and Kathy in Marysville on Friday and headed east across the North Cascades Highway. After a few stops along the way, we ended up in Winthrop at Lake Pearrygin. It happened to be opening weekend for deer hunting and fortunately we didn't run across any dead animals. Friday was sunny but cool, and Friday night dropped down into the mid-20s. Owen slept in the camper with Terry and Kathy while Chris and I enjoyed our backpacking tent and cold-weather bags. We've only gotten to use them once (last year at the Grand Canyon). I had a pretty hard time letting my baby go that night, and yes I cried, but only a little :) Chris didn't even make fun of me. The next day we broke our camp and made our way to Lake Entiat. We made a couple stops along the way, including one to buy apples. Since my grandparents no longer farm, we don't get a big box of fresh apples a
nymore! Anyway we stayed at Lincoln Rock on Saturday and it's a pretty nice park. I found it in one of my books and the author had given it a very good review. If you go, I recommend sites 11-15. We were situated right on the water which the dogs loved. Late Sunday morning, we broke our camp and drove across the lake to Rocky Reach Dam. We wandered around the visitors center for a while and let the dogs out to run before heading home. We came down 97 to Cle Elum and continued over Snoqualmie Pass. The weather was beautiful. All in all, a nice weekend. We didn't play as hard as we usually do since we had Owen with us, but it was nice to do a little relaxing. Chris and I are already planning on going back to Lincoln Rock next summer.
