Chris surprised me with a new (gorgeous) digital SLR camera for our anniversary. Our anniversary is still a couple days away but he couldn't get out of work, so we're stretching it over a few days. He gave me my gift today, I'll probably give him his gift in a couple days, and we'll try to do something special on his next weekend. The life of a police wife... you learn to celebrate on the wrong day but it's all good.Anyway I've played with the camera a bit and I have so much to learn. I took several of Owen while he was laughing at Chris, and captured some cute facial expressions. My best friend Dawn has her eye on the same camera and we're hoping she gets it for Christmas, because we'd like to take a photography class together. (Dawn's parents... are you reading this??)

Which brand did you get? I have a Samsung and I adore it!
It's a Canon. I always had my eye on the Nikons but Chris did a ton of research and chose a Canon for me. So far I'm really liking it! Still have a ton to learn though.
Good choice with the canon. I know that when I talked to the guy at the camera shop he said that the nikon lenses are kinda crappy in the affordable model. So I am sure the canon is great!
Oh yeah, I have had my camera for a year now and I still don't really know how to do all the functions!
