Anniversary

We made the most of our day today. Chris was tired (still having a hard time adjusting back to nights since returning to work after his accident) so we didn't make it to lunch like we'd hoped. We exchanged cards and I gave him his gifts, and just spent a nice quiet day together as a family. It's weird to celebrate a wedding anniversary. We don't really measure our relationship by how long we've been married (3 years). We've been together 12 years so we go by that. It's a long time, and it's been mostly good. I included a couple of my favorite pictures... the first was from January 1997 and we'd been dating for 2 months. The second of course was from our wedding.

So on to something not so good.. I'm a bad dog mom. Long story short, in my absentmindedness (or some may simply call it blondness) I didn't realize that I was missing a dog when I shut the garage door last night. Three hours later I heard poor Trooper whimpering on the back patio. Oops... I can't believe I did that, but sometimes three dogs feels like three hundred.

And back to something good. Little Owen turned 6 months yesterday. He had a hard time last night with his gums but we got through it. In fact I am rather proud of myself for identifying the problem quickly and finding the solution. He's such an easy, sweet baby and luckily we haven't had many difficult nights. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that any future babies of ours will be this wonderful.
