An Amazing Find

Chris and I stopped by my dad's house the other day to pick up Chris' tool box and air compressor. My dad surprised me with a page from an old newspaper. His friend Denny knows a couple who are renovating their house in Milton. They found an old copy of the News Tribune, dated Oct 23, 1942, hidden in a wall in near perfect condition. Denny's wife Kris was looking it over and noticed a picture with our last name (spelled wrong of course, which we're used to). She showed it to Denny who discovered that it was a picture of my grandma on her wedding day. My grandparents, Jerry and Blanche Kreuger, were married on Oct 3, 1942 in the Sumner United Methodist Church. Chris and I were married in the same church on Oct 15, 2005. Denny gave the page to my dad who gave it to me, and it's something that I treasure very much.

We've been unpacking a little at a time. I put the kitchen together first and I'm poking away at the bedroom. Chris ordered all the closet shelving from Direct Buy so he's been working on installation. He's done some organizing in the garage. Neither of us have been incredibly motivated so we're just taking it slow. It's taking some time to get used to living in the sticks. It's very quiet and very dark at night. Which is nice of course, but it takes some getting used to.

I had another appointment with my doctor this week and everything is still going well. We listened to the heartbeat again. I have only gained 6 pounds (normal should be 12-15 by now) but my doctor said I'm fine. I have an ultrasound coming up on the 18th and we will hopefully find out if we are having a boy or girl. We can't wait...we really want to know what we're having!
