Melancholy

One of my favorite words..melancholy. That's how I feel tonight. Dad is somewhere in Montana on a road trip. Mom is in eastern Washington with my grandparents and Aunt Cynthia. Grandpa went into the hospital a few days ago with some pains in his chest. It ended up being pancreatitus which is serious of course, but I'm so glad it wasn't something worse. He's at home now and apparently mowed the lawn today, so it sounds like he's doing just fine :) Chris went into work a few hours early today. And Laura of course is at sea. I'm not in the mood to leave the house so I'm just bumming around, feeling a little sorry for myself...

I met Laura again at the pier this morning. Her friends Helen and Mike came along. Helen asked to be dropped off at Pike Place Market. Mike, Laura and I stopped by the precinct for the free parking...got some breakfast and wandered around Westlake for a while. They didn't have much time so I took them back to the ship around 11am. Laura only has two more weeks in Alaska, then she's off to Mexico for a few weeks. I won't see her at all during that time. No silly cell phone pictures. We're kind of famous when it comes to those... I miss her a lot :(
