Visit With Paula

My cousin Paula came home from Mt Shasta, CA for a few days to visit friends and family. She hadn't met Logan yet so we made sure to get together. We bbq'd and roasted marshmallows around my mom's fire pit and had a nice time catching up. One of these days we'll do another road trip and head down to visit her again.

Chris had his meniscus surgery yesterday. To lessen my load, Owen spent Tuesday night with my mom and Logan spent a few hours with my dad. Chris' surgery went well and the doctor did a nice job cleaning up the good-sized tear. After getting him home, I did my best to keep him comfortable, fed, and entertained. He was not feeling well from the anesthesia but didn't have much pain for the rest of the day. Today however, his knee is hurting quite a bit.

Chris needed to get out of the house today so we headed to Saltwater State Park for a little while. Chris and Logan found a spot to sit among the driftwood while Owen and I explored the beach. He loved running through the creek and waded out until he was knee-deep in the sound. Found out the kid does a great seagull impression too. Toward the end of our visit, Owen fell in the water twice but didn't cry. So I didn't feel bad laughing at him.

We had fun and poor Chris was happy to get a break from the couch. I'll definitely keep planning more short outings like this to keep him entertained.
