It's official: For our anniversay this year, Chris and I are heading for Puerto Rico and the southern Caribbean islands. Our itinerary will be packed, as we're going on a cruise that will be stopping in six ports: St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, and St. Maarten. After the cruise, we'll hang around in Puerto Rico for a couple of days and then head home. I'm so excited for this adventure.
Of course this means we'll be away from our kids for ten days. I'm not looking forward to that part, but we'll have more fun without them (does that sound mean?).
So while all you suckers are outside raking leaves in the rain, Chris and I will be here:

Barbados was PHENOMENAL. If I had to go back to any of the Southern Caribbean ports to stay for a week it would be there. Plus we walked to a public beach from the dock. It was maybe a mile? away. Not to far. We took a cab home. Dominica was very pretty as well. They have a great botanical garden that was fun to wander.
Just a warning. Since you are going during hurricane season it will be CRAZY humid. Keep in mind that your camera lens will fog up horribly each and everytime you enter or exit the boat. When you exit it can take 30 minutes for the condensation to burn off so either pack a cloth to use or plan your photos accordingly =]
I am just a wee bit more than jealous.
Thanks for the tips, Sam! :) We've been in the Caribbean/Bahamas twice during hurricane season (our ship sailed around the edge of Hurricane Wilma as it the storm headed toward Florida actually). Hope this year is a quiet one!
Very good. You should know all about the humidity then.
Bite me!
