Little Bit of Everything

Sometimes things happen that make me realize how much I have to be thankful for. This past week has been difficult for various reasons but all I have to do is look at these two sweet faces and realize that I'm one of the luckiest people in the world. I ran 2 miles again the other day (this time in the sun). On the days I don't run, Chris and Logan join Owen and me for a 2-mile walk. Our neighborhood has a huge undeveloped phase behind us (just roads and sidewalks, no houses) and it's the perfect place to go. It's so quiet and sometimes our bald eagle friend comes out to see what's going on. I plan on keeping up with a "run 3 days a week, walk the rest of the week" routine, plus weights. My friend Melanie has been a big inspiration and is helping me get started.

Random event: my mom came over to hang out with the boys and me the other evening. We took Owen to play at one of our neighborhood parks, where there is a big slide. I warned my mom "he'll probably make you go down the slide, because he makes me." As soon as I said that, Owen was literally pushing my mom toward the slide. She humored him and went down several times. My mom totally rules.

Big milestone: Logan is smiling for us now. I haven't been able to get a picture yet but hope to soon. He's also doing a great job holding his head up. He is still wobbly but becomes stronger every day. I love him!

Secret surprise: A big purchase might be in our future. Stay tuned.
