Boots

Sigh... husbands. Chris is heading over to Moses Lake tomorrow to attend the Grant County memorial. Meaning he will stay at work tonight and leave first thing in the morning. Meaning that he had to remember to take certain things to work tonight since he's staying up in Seattle overnight. Meaning that I went into "pester mode" to make sure he didn't forget anything from his Class-A uniform for the memorial (we had a last-minute badge incident before the Lakewood memorial.. ended up working out but it caused a lot of unnecessary stress).

"Badge? Hat? Tie? Boots?"

I went over that checklist with him at least three times in the 30 minutes before he left for work tonight. An hour after he left, I received a text message from him.

"I forgot my f*^#ing boots."

I have no idea how he managed to do that after my badgering. But no problem. I've done the Graham-Seattle drive enough that I don't even think twice about the distance, and the fact that it was 7pm didn't make me blink an eye. Owen and I jumped in the car and headed up to the Tukwila Starbucks with the boots. We reached the parking lot and Owen started yelling "Daddy! Daddy!" So cute! We went inside, delivered the f*^#ing boots and hung out with Chris and a couple of his buddies for a while. Owen drank most of my frapuccino (pig).

So that was our excitement for the evening. I figure the boots incident is good mom-practice for me (husbands are the same as kids sometimes, right?). Lord knows my parents came through for me when I've been desperate for help at the last minute! Heck, I still call on them when I'm in a pinch! And they are always there for me.

On a side note, this is my 200th post. To our family and friends, thanks for taking interest in my family and keeping up on us :)
