Christmas Tree

Monday (the day before the memorial) we drove out to Eatonville to find this year's Christmas tree. Last year we went to Cox Christmas Trees and were impressed with their selection, so we decided to go there again this year. We bundled Owen up in his new cold-weather gear (as it was 28 degrees outside) and off we went.

This year we decided on a 9-foot grand fir. I love the way grand firs look, but I'm normally not a fan of the flimsy branches. However, I'm not planning on hanging many ornaments this year because of Hurricane Owen, so we went for the grand fir.
It was cold but sunny, and the mountain was out. We came home and brought the tree inside. We had planned on decorating last night, but we were tired from the memorial. I put lights on today (I added some red lights this year for a little pizzazz) and we'll decorate whenever Chris is home next. Perhaps tomorrow evening. It's been hard getting into the spirit this year.

I look at the pictures of Owen and I am just astounded at how much he has grown! He is not a baby any more!He us a miniature man!
