Celebrations

We've been festive lately. Last night was Ty's birthday celebration at Toscanos. Chris, Owen and I met my mom and several friends for a few hours of food and fun. In honor of Ty's birthday, Toscanos agreed to donate twenty percent of the evening's proceeds to NNPDF. Owen, as usual, behaved so well and we received many compliments on our nice boy. He colored, played with Ty's dinosaurs (Ty is always so nice to share his toys with Owen), and learned the art of pick-pocketing. Yep.. when Cindy wasn't looking, Owen reached right into her purse and stole her wallet. I later learned that he tried to snitch Keri's credit card when she was paying her bill. Geez.. Anyway, the evening was fun and the food was great (Chris had chicken parmesan and I had gorgonzola ravioli. Owen ate bread and teddy grahams). I can't wait to see how much money will be donated.

On Saturday we attended a birthday party. Shawn and Kelly's son Garrett was turning one, so we gathered to celebrate the big day. We tossed the kids in the playroom and let them destroy it. Everyone played well and had lots of fun. Kelly did a great job on the cake and I think I've found my new cake person. In fact, I asked her to do Owen's next birthday cake.

Owen and I met Laura for a Bon Voyage lunch on Friday. She's on a short cruise now (Vancouver to LA for the ship's transition from Alaska to Mexico). In October, she will head out for a few weeks, and then again in December. I think she's going back to Panama. They asked her to head up the kids' program on the ship and she accepted. I'm happy for her.
