Cannonball!

Owen attended his first pool party today. Our friends' son Gavin celebrated his 1st birthday today and they held a really fun party for him. They live in a condo complex and have access to a clubhouse and pool, and we spent the day listening to music, eating great food, and playing in the pool. I've been meaning to take Owen swimming but can never seem to find the time, so we jumped at the oppurtunity to put him in the pool. He cried the first 4-5 minutes but quickly decided the pool is the place to be. The water was great.. we hope to spend some more time there this summer!

Owen was a flirty social butterfly. When he wasn't showing off his dance moves, he was blowing kisses to pretty girls. I think he has a crush on Jake's sister (a much older woman).

Yesterday, my dad and I spent the day working at the cabin again. We pulled out two of the four shed posts and replaced them with new posts (that was a chore) and cleaned up a ton of storm debris. Also did a few other chores and came home sore, bloody and tired, but felt good about what we accomplished. My poor dad has bad shoulders and bad hips, but he works so hard up there.

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this, but Laura has been on the Westerdam in Alaska for the past couple weeks. I've been table to talk to her on Sundays and Wednesdays when she's in port. She's usually tired but is having fun. Her current contract is a short one, but she will remain on call in the event they need her.
