Dad, Laura and I spent another day at the cabin today. Dad worked the chainsaw and Laura and I hauled logs and cleared limbs. I'm so glad we're not wimpy girly-girls. We ran into the head ranger (who my dad has gotten to know quite well) and visited for a while. We came home with bumps, bruises and scratches, but we're a little closer to being done. We have tentative plans to go again next week. Anyone care to join us? Free beer, and it's a great workout.
My mom ended up watching Owen because my cabin trip interfered with Chris' sleeping schedule. Mom and a couple of her friends ended up taking Owen to the Puyallup farmer's market for a few hours. Apparently he was quite popular and made all kinds of friends, including several dogs. I picked him up in the evening and he babbled "dog dog dog" for much of the ride home.
If anyone is interested in cutting wood for personal use, let me know. The forest service is issuing permits to the public on the cabin road (they don't normally do this) because they need help with clearing all the fallen trees.

Ha! I wish I could post on here the pictures I found of you at Gramma and Grampa's in response to you're 'we're not girly-girls' comment. You and your loooooong hair that you were flipping around and so stinking proud of! ;-)
Hey Kelley.. are you volunteering to come up and help? Brat :)
You're jealous of my long blonde locks!
