First Steps

Owen (one week shy of 11 months) took his first steps this morning. He was really close to walking last week, but lost interest and stopped trying for a few days. This morning, he took about 3 wobbly steps to snitch the remote control from his dad. The look of pride on Chris' face was priceless! I didn't record the first steps but I'll make sure to get some footage on here soon.

Chris and I went to the Portland Roadster Show yesterday with his dad and uncle. I wasn't wearing my mullet wig, and I forgot my hot rod t-shirt/jacket/hat ensemble at home so I didn't really fit in. However I do like looking at the cars. I couldn't tell you what year something is just by looking at the tail light, but I still like to look. I took the camera so I could practice taking pictures under fluorescent lighting, and I came home with a few nice shots. Kathy stayed home with Owen and it sounds like he wore her out. He's a busy boy! Next time we will take him with us, because when I saw other people with their kids, it made me miss my own.

Hooray! First steps with your first baby are amazing. It is the second child that you push down and put weights on the ankles. Have fun with a whole new level of holy terror!

Game's on now for watching Owen! Now I REALLY have to get into better shape to keep up with the little guy :-) Good incentive, isn't it?
