Happy New Year

Chris had to work New Years Eve so Owen was my date. Brad and Julie were having their annual party and Julie pretty much forced me to go. Juan and Jennifer, our neighbors, were invited as well (Juan works with Brad and Chris) so I was able to hitch a ride with them. Owen did great and, as usual, was rather popular. Jake and Christy were there with Gavin (6 months) and he and Owen really enjoyed each other. They engaged in a long conversation of baby babble and it was hilarious. As usual, Brad and Julie threw a fantastic party and we had a good time. I just wish Chris could have been there with us.

Chris and I ordered new window treatments the other day. We joined DirectBuy a couple years ago which has been a great investment. If you're planning on building, remodeling, or redecorating, it's the best deal. Anyway after consulting with my cousin Kelley (interior designer.. she's great.. hey Kell, thanks for returning my frantic phone call the other day) and a couple of the designers at DirectBuy, I finally settled on the fabric for the Roman shades. It's nothing incredibly fancy but it was a big decision. The price was amazing.. we're very happy.

Today, Owen started giving kisses. Granted, they are sloppy but I don't mind. He and I were cuddled up on the couch and I was kissing his cheeks. He leaned in and gave me a big mouthful of slobber on my cheek. He pulled away, smiled, and went for the other cheek. He did it 4-5 more times and we both just giggled! Owen also has a another tooth (forgot to mention this in the previous posts). Yep, four teeth in eight days. He was great.. what a man.

Well, I'm glad that the holidays are officially over now. It's time for things to slow down a bit! Happy New Year to you all.
