Owen's hair was starting to cover his ears and that was a little too much for us. Chris and I aren't into out-of-control baby hair so we decided it was time for a haircut. Actually, what really prompted the trip was an email I sent to Chris at work stating "I just tied a bow in Owen's hair because it's long enough". 
Chris replied with "Noooooooooooo! We will go get it cut tomorrow!". On Friday, we took him to a salon that specializes in children. They had the coolest NYPD cop car for the kids to sit in, but it doesn't have restraints so we had Owen sit in my lap. Owen did great with the clippers for about one minute and cried the rest of the time. But his hair turned out cute! The only thing that makes me sad is that he now looks blonde. I want my little brown-haired boy back. Here's how he looks now!
On Saturday we headed to Lake Stevens for a birthday party. Eric and Sam's little girl was celebrating her first birthday. There were so many little kids, toddlers and babies that it made us dizzy. But the kids were all very well-behaved and played together so well (good parents). It was nice to see Eric and Sam again. We don't get to see them enough since they're practically in Canada.
My sister turned 29 yesterday. Yikes... My own age never makes me feel old. It's my little sister's age that makes me feel old. Chris, Owen and I went to my mom's for spaghetti (yum) and giant cupcakes (yum). Last year, Laura was on the ship for her birthday so we were happy to be able to celebrate with her this year.

Owen has his 9-month appointment with the doctor today. I'm curious to see how much he weighs. I'm sure he's not 50 pounds but he sure feels that way.

Height: 29.5 inches (80th percentile)
Weight: 22lb 3oz (75th percentile)
Head: Don't remember but it's in the 95th freakin' percentile! Holy moly, I have a Charlie Brown kid!
Everything went great. As usual the doctor told us we're fantastic parents and we're raising a wonderful child. Like we didn't already know that, haha! :)

That's so cute! Alyssa's is over the ears too and it drives me crazy, but I want it long!!!! Just fyi...Lake Stevens is NOT Canada : )
Close enough! If we had to go any further north we would have needed our passports! But that's okay.. good friends are worth the drive :)
