Christmas Eve

Last night we hosted the Johnson Christmas party. We offered to have the party at our house months ago and I started my planning back in mid-November. This ended up being a blessing in disguise...despite being sick for so long I was able to pull everything off completely stress-free. Since the family has grown so large, we decided to try something new this year. We bought gifts for the kids only, and just held a big stocking stuffer exchange. The plan worked well and was so much fun that I think it will be our new tradition.

Owen had a fun night with his extended family. He really seemed to bond with Chris' cousin Michelle and her husband Travis. I'm so glad they were able to make it up from California. Anyway we had a fun night with great food and lots of laughs. I'm glad everyone was able to make it out despite South Hill holiday traffic and snow/ice!

Yep, we still have several inches of snow here. Chris and I are having some major Ellensburg flashbacks, how it would snow in November and melt in March. The dogs are just loving life right now. It's so much fun to watch them run in it.

Anyway, it's Christmas Eve and there's plenty to get done... I will leave you with this video clip from earlier today. Owen has taken a real liking to a particular ornament on our tree. He gets a big smile on his face and looks at you to make sure you're watching too. I think you'll recognize the message...

"That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown" is what this photo says, that's for sure!
