Back on Schedule

Chris is home from Vegas and we're on our way to being back on a schedule. I'm so happy he's home, except he's not feeling well. I was kind of hoping that he'd walk in the door and take Owen and the dogs off my hands so I could kick back! Oh well...I'll spoil him tonight and hope he feels better tomorrow. He had a good time. He bought me a beautiful book for the coffee table from the Thomas Mangelsen gallery (which we always visit when we're in Vegas) and picked up some toys from FAO Schwartz for Owen. One of the toys is a police puppet, and he had Owen in a fit of giggles over it.

Yesterday I had lunch with two very dear friends, Dawn and Paula (and Paula's 8 month old daughter Alyssa). We met at the Rainforest Cafe in Southcenter because we thought the babies would like it. They were so cute, sitting in high chairs next to each other! Owen is such a little flirt...he kept smiling at Alyssa and reaching out for her. They enjoyed the tropical fish tanks and giant butterflies. After lunch, Dawn and I wandered around the mall and did a little shopping while Owen slept in his stroller. I'm so glad we were able to get together. They are wonderful friends.

Owen's sitting up on his own now. Looking back, I think he's been able to do it for a couple weeks but I just wasn't giving him a chance to show me. I'm so paranoid about him falling over so I've always got a hand on him. A few days ago I let go and the kid just sat there on his own and smiled at me. Of course Chris was out of town but Owen showed off his new skill today.

I'm really looking forward to getting back to a schedule. We don't have a lot going on in the next couple weeks. Whew...
