Johnson Ailments: Boys-2, Girls-0

Our last two days have been eventful but in a not-so-fun way. Monday evening I was doing some video editing at my mom's house and she brought my cell phone to me, saying it had been ringing. Apparently I had several missed calls, voicemails and texts. I read a text from my work friend Missy which said "call me asap" and right away I knew it was Chris. I called the first number on my missed call list and reached Mo's phone, who passed it to Chris. He'd gotten into a car accident while on duty and was in an ambulance, being transported to the hospital. Per the captain's request, Brad picked me up and took me to HMC to be with Chris. X-rays and a CAT scan showed no serious injuries, but he's very stiff and sore and will be out of work for a couple of weeks.

The next morning (yesterday), Owen woke up much earlier than normal and was extremely fussy. During the course of the day he continued to cry out in pain and refused to eat. His temperature was ranging from 99.5-102.5 and eventually I was out of ideas, so I finally broke down and called the doctor. They told me to bring him in, and it turns out that Owen has his first ear infection. He's on antibiotics and Tylenol.

So the boys in the house are not at their best, and I'm trying hard to take good care of them. Things are going well right now, but we'll see if I feel the same way in a couple of days! My next post could be about how bad I'd like to spend a week in the Bahamas.

Thanks to everyone for the kind thoughts, phone calls and emails regarding Chris' accident. We've been overwhelmed with the amount of support and appreciate everything. I am thankful his accident was not more serious, and I hope nothing like this happens ever again. Owen and I kinda need him :)

Oh no! I hope the boys are ok! I didn't know about the accident. I don't think Bing knows either. He's been off this week! Please give the boys our best and let us know if y'all need anything. What a scare! hope your nerves are holding up.

There is NOTHING worse than that phone call from work. I got one for an accident Eric had while working in West Seattle. He was ok but said some pretty weird stuff (red was green and green was red). Glad to hear that he is ok!
