I started lifting weights again yesterday. It's been about a month since Owen was born and I decided that it's time to get back into shape. I'm still a little sore (some days very sore) from the delivery but for the most part I seem to be recovering quite well. I only gained 20 pounds during my pregnancy which was part hard work and part luck. Because of my ovarian cysts, my pregnancy was considered higher risk and my doctor advised me to gain no more than 25 pounds. I didn't hit the gym much but I kept my food intake reasonable and did quite a bit of walking. I was quite surprised when the 20 pounds melted off two weeks after Owen was born, and I was even more surprised when I dropped another 10 pounds without doing anything!
I have a really good book on lifting and it actually works, if anyone is interested. I lost 35 pounds a year and a half ago with this book. I hope to lose 30 this time around.
Brad and Julie invited us to see a band play tonight. A couple of the members are SPD officers. However we had to turn them down because Chris was going to be working o/t and I didn't really know what to do with Owen. Hopefully it works out again, because it sounded like fun! (Who wants to babysit?)
I did take Owen to see Dad and Ashley though. They invited Chris and I over for dinner. Chris of course couldn't make it but Owen and I went and hung out for 3 hours. Ashley made her pistachio dessert which is to die for (and bought me an extra 30 minutes on the treadmill). We discussed pond stuff and watched the birds for a little bit. The temperature has been near 90 the past couple days. It's strange how we had snow a couple days after Owen was born, and a month later we're reaching 90.
