My Aunt Toni hosted a baby shower for me last Saturday. There was a large turnout and the day was great. The food (as usual) was good and the games were fun. Because of the freaky weather we've been having, my grandma and a few of
Chris' relatives were unable to make it across the mountains from eastern Washington. I was sad, but understand that road conditions can't be helped. Anyway I had a wonderful time seeing aunts, cousins and friends and I am so thankful and humbled by their generosity. The amount of gifts I received was amazing. Paula, Kelley and Maria packed up my VW Golf and somehow were able to fit all the gifts inside! When I got home I started to log onto my Target registry to make some updates when Chris said "aren't you going to show me your gifts?" He's the cutest guy ever! So we spent the next couple hours going through the stacks of bags and boxes and talking about how nervous and excited we are. We still have moments where we still can't believe this is happening. It's something we've wanted so bad for such a long time. Anyway, the picture I posted shows all the items we received from the
shower. I still can't get over the generosity.I've been taking it easy for the last couple days. My feet and ankles have been swelling up pretty bad, and I have carpal tunnel in both hands. We try to run our errands and do our chores early in the day so I can rest in the evening when the swelling is the worst. I'm going to try and work up as close to the due date as possible but if the hand pain keeps up, I might leave earlier than planned.

Today Dad and Ashley stopped by with another gift: the high chair! We picked out a gorgeous cherry Eddie Bauer high chair that goes well with the colors in our house. They invited us out for a late lunch so we met up at Ruby Tuesday and had a nice visit.
Today marks 36 weeks of pregnancy. And it sure feels like it. I'm starting to pack a bag for the hospital, just in case.

Woo hoo! Getting closer! Glad you had fun at your shower. Are you sure you don't want to post a picture of the cankles on your blog? ;-)
