Turning 30

My 30th birthday snuck up on me in a big way. What an ugly number. I spent much of Friday night worrying that I haven't accopmplished anything in life and that I'm not where I thought I would be, etc etc etc. Then I thought "wait"...I have a great husband, we have a baby on the way, we have good jobs, a beautiful new house with a mountain view...I've seen 11 countries and have been to many US states. So I really have accomplished a lot so far, but any way you look at it, 30 is still ugly! However, friends and family made my birthday a very special day and I enjoyed myself.

I'm writing this at 6am which feels like the middle of the night for me. I've been having a hard time sleeping lately because I can't get comfortable. It's very true that the second trimester is the easiest. I was feeling great a couple months ago and had so much energy. Now I'm exhausted and things are starting to hurt and I feel so clumsy. Chris wants to get started on a fence and yard and I feel awful that I will be of very little assistance. I can still sit back and boss him around though!

I talked to Laura a couple days ago and we keep in contact online. She's very happy on her current ship. I think she will be in Aruba next. This ship alternates between the western and southern Caribbean and she likes the variety of ports that she is in. Visiting the same Mexican and Alaskan ports every week became boring for her. She is still due to come home April 13 and she's hoping to take a month off. We didn't have a lot of time to spend together when she was home last and I feel bad about that.

Not much else going on...Chris and I have been taking it easy lately...both working some o/t but other than that we're just trying to spend some quiet time at home and enjoy our last couple of months before life will change forever!
