Been Awhile...

I've been too busy and preoccupied to write anything lately. I need to back up a ways but I'll keep it brief. We had a nice Christmas and for the first time in several years, we were able to spend time both together and with our families. We braved the nasty roads and had a nice gift exchange and dinner with my family in eastern WA. We ended up taking the dogs (not planned) because Apollo got into some rat poison 15 minutes before we were due to leave. So we had to stop at an emergency vet clinic along the way to have him treated. (He's just fine.) We spent Christmas Eve at Chris' parents' house with the extended family. It's been years since I've been able to be with them at any holiday gathering for longer than an hour. Christmas day started out quiet with just Chris and me, and my mom showed up to help me prepare Christmas dinner. Chris' parents showed up and we exchanged more gifts and ate. And they said my turkey tasted good. Even vegetarians can cook a turkey :)

New Years was just another night for me...since the dogs (particularly Raven) don't care for fireworks, it's tough to leave the house on holidays such as New Years and July 4th. So I hung out at home while Chris spent an insane night at work.

Baby news...I finally started feeling movement a few weeks ago. I feel him more at night when I'm laying down. So far everything is going well and I'm nowhere near as anxious/nervous as I was in the beginning. My doctor doesn't consider me to be high risk anymore (there were some issues in the beginning) and has given me permission to use the elliptical machine at the gym again!
