Power Outage

Like everyone else, we lost power on Monday night. It went out around 9:30pm and came back on sometime around 5am the next morning. We were out running errands and when we arrived home, I had a feeling I should be getting my candles out. I'm not kidding, within 30 seconds of lighting my candles, the house went dark. Yay for being one step ahead!

We thought the boys might be afraid of the dark but they were both fine. Owen was a little perplexed about the light switches not working. I just told him the lights were broke and it clicked, so he stopped asking about them. We settled down on the couch with the boys until they fell asleep and then transferred them to their rooms. I'm so glad that our kids aren't dependant on lamps/night lights to sleep. Otherwise it would have been a long night.

Chris and I huddled up together and watched a little Hulu on the laptop. We lit a couple of wine bottle candles left over from our wedding, made some Jiffy Pop (thanks to the gas stove) and munched on the Oreo truffles I'd made earlier. Which were amazing, by the way. Fun night despite no power! I'm actually looking forward to the next outage, believe it or not :)
