Victoria Bound

Owen will be spending a couple of days with Chris' parents in the very near future, so we decided to take a mini-vacation. We tossed out ideas such as Reno and San Francisco and ended up deciding on Victoria. We found a great deal through the Victoria Clipper and ...wait for it... we are staying at the EMPRESS! I've been to Victoria a handful of times and have always wanted to stay at the Empress Hotel (see below). When I mentioned this to Chris, he said "let's go for it". Next thing I knew, we were booked. They also gave us a discount for being a police family. Not bad. Hope Chris can keep up with his knee!We've made some great progress on the pond. The padding is down and the liner is in (kind of), and we put about 10 inches of water in. The liner still needs to be fitted/formed and we have some plumbing to do. After that, we'll hook everything up and get it running. Then the fun begins for me: landscaping :) The end is still a ways away but at least we're at the point of seeing real progress. The pond will be roughly 2000 gallons and the main pool is 4 feet deep. Definitely not a small project. I'll post before/during/after pictures when we're finished.
