Shoplifter!

My kid (check out his clothing choice) stole candy from the store a couple days ago. It was 95 degrees outside and I didn't notice he had it until I had both kids buckled in the car. So I did the right thing: kept it and drove home. I wasn't going to leave the kids in the car, and I wasn't going to haul everyone back inside for some stupid candy. Got home and hid the candy from Owen because he certainly doesn't need to learn that it's okay to steal. An hour later he found the candy, brought it to me and said "please?" followed by "thank you, Mommy." Well, go ahead and melt my heart, kid! I couldn't say no to that sweet request. So I let my child eat his stolen candy. If he grows up to be a felon, I guess this is the proof that I'm to blame.

Chris started his light duty assignment on Monday after being home for 6 weeks. He has at least a month to go before he can return to patrol. His knee is still pretty weak and he's lost so much muscle.

Despite the injury, we've been able to put the finishing touches on our pond. Chris' parents took Owen for a couple of days so we could focus on working. Our waterfall is nearing completion, the bench and bridge are built, and several plants have been planted. We still need to put stones around the edge. Almost there.

And before I wrap this up, I just have to say... we've snorkeled in some very exotic locations such as Jamaica, the Caymans, the Bahamas. Add Graham to the list. We had to snorkel in our pond last week to place the bottom drain. Chris tried first but was having trouble (it was cold and he's not really a cold water guy) so I jumped in to take care of it.
