Goat Creek Falls

Dad, Chris, the boys and I went to the cabin today. We took a set of new (well, new to us) couches up and brought the other two couches home. Chris watched from the sidelines while Dad and I did the heavy work, lucky him!

The weather was beautiful and the temperature was a perfect 75 degrees. I decided it was time to take Owen on his first hike to Goat Creek Falls, a hike I've done since I was a little girl. My dad and his dog Brandy decided to join us. Owen did great and ended up making the entire hike all on his own. Although I shouldn't be surprised... he hiked with us in the Redwoods last October, so I guess you could say he's an old pro.

Here are a few pictures I took along the way. You'll see why I love the Crystal Mountain/Goat Creek area so much...

And here are a couple of fun guys who weren't able to go hiking, but still managed to enjoy a beautiful day in the mountains. And on a random side note... the Tootsie Pop is a cabin necessity (that goes back as far as I can remember). I was a little surprised when I came upon this strange creature in the bag, aka the yellow Tootsie Pop. It was banana-flavored... not bad, but not cabin material. I will stick with the standard red, orange, purple and brown.

I'm proud of you, John and Laura with all of the work you have put into restoring the cabin. I know that G and G Kreuger are smiling down on you :-)
