Whirlwind Trip

We knew that we'd eventually need to buy a car to fit our growing family. So Chris and I started doing our homework recently and after lots of discussion, research, and compromise, we decided on a GMC Acadia. We couldn't find one locally that we liked so we called Dave Smith Motors in Idaho. They had exactly what we were looking for, and the price was a few thousand dollars less than what we were finding here. The original plan was for Chris to fly over alone, but we decided to go together and take the kids. We figured it would be a good way to test how Owen does on a plane (because how wrong could things go on an hour-long flight?).
Both Owen and Logan did fantastic on the flight. Logan slept for most of it and Owen had a good time looking out the window. I didn't get any good pictures because Owen was too excited to stop and smile for the camera. But at least I have a few pictures to commemorate the boys' first time on a plane.

A driver picked us up at the Spokane airport and took us to the dealership in Idaho. After a quick test drive we signed paperwork and were on our way. The drive home was long but the boys were great. We made a couple of stops along the way for food and rolled into our driveway at 11pm. It was a long 18-hour day but we had so much fun! We also decided that next time we're ready for a car, we'll do the same thing and buy from the same dealership. Maybe next time we'll have a couple days' notice so we can turn it into a short vacation. It would have been fun to stay the night in Coeur d'Alene.

I also decided that I love northern Idaho. A camping trip might be in order for this summer.
