Last Thursday, we received word that Logan could come off the bili-lights. His blood test indicated that his bilirubin level had dropped four points which put him back in the safe zone. While it was hard to see him in the bed for 50 hours, I'm so thankful that we were able to keep him home rather than put him in the hospital.I took Logan to the doctor for his second PKU and his weight was pretty low (7lb 14oz). While it's normal for newborns to lose weight, the doctor felt that Logan should be back closer to his birth weight by now. However, he's eating well and isn't showing any sign of malnutrition. So for now the doctor told me to just keep with what I'm doing and we will watch him closely.
Owen continues to adjust well to having another rugrat in the house. He always makes sure that Logan has a pacifier (or two or three), and he loves to pull the blanket back so he can count Logan's toes.
Chris took a month off from patrol but started working a little bit of off-duty during the day. Yesterday was my first day alone with both kids, and it went better than expected. I was able to keep both kids happy, entertained, and well-fed without any major meltdowns or problems. I even managed to get Owen down for a nap, and I put a shelving unit together and cleaned the downstairs while he slept. I guess I shouldn't pat myself on the back too much because I have plenty of friends who have 3-5 kids and they all seem to manage :)
Today is St. Patrick's Day, so I shall end this post with a picture of my sweet little leprechauns.
