Saturday morning, Owen and I met my mom's "Breakfast Club" friends at the Berryland Cafe in Sumner. The Quandts were about to begin a 3-day drive to visit family in Vegas, so we got together to give them an official send-off. Owen helped himself to a piece of toast off my mom's friend's plate, which was hilarious. Later, he went through her wallet and pulled out all the credit cards. What kind of a child am I raising?
Later on Saturday afternoon, we dropped Owen off at Chris' parents' house for an overnighter. Chris and I ran a couple errands and came home, did a little cleaning/laundry, and kicked back. I was not a happy girl that night! You'd think that I'd welcome a break from my active toddler once in a while, especially considering I'm 7 months pregnant and exhausted. But honestly, I couldn't stand that Owen wasn't in the house. I really missed the chaos. It sounds like he kept Terry and Kathy pretty busy. They brought him home Sunday afternoon, and for the rest of the evening Owen was clinging to me and wouldn't leave my side. (Okay, I was clinging to him too! Can't help it.. I love my sweet hurricane of a little boy!)
I had my 3-hour glucose test at the hospital yesterday morning and the results came back normal. I hate that test and I'm glad it's over with. The nurses advised me to leave in between blood draws because people kept coming in for H1N1 testing. I've been vaccinated, but they are finding that some vaccinated people are still becoming infected, including at least one pregnant woman. So I took their advice and ran several errands between draws. Anyway, things are still good with #2. January will be my month to pull out all the newborn clothes and supplies, and get the little guy's room put together. March is sneaking up on us fast, and there is always the possibility of another early baby. So we need to be ready.
Here are a couple new pictures. Owen received his very own Christmas card from his great-grandparents, which he was very proud of. And the second is a pre-Santa picture that I took. I hope Owen remembered to tell Santa what he wants for Christmas.
