NNPDF Fundrasier

The big Niemann-Pick disease fundrasier (dance and silent auction) was held on Friday in Ty Quandt's honor. This is the third year my mom has organized it and as usual, it was fantastic. My friend Matt generously volunteered his DJ services again and the kids loved him. I was the photographer and helped bring in money by taking pictures of people at the dance. I was exhausted at the end of the night but had the time of my life. I was supposed to work at last year's event but was in the hospital, so I was extra excited for this year's fundraiser. I'm attaching pictures below.. the first is one of my "portraits" featuring my mom and Karen Quandt. The second is Matt high-fiving Ty after Ty requested the song "Mamma Mia".I'm looking forward to taking pictures at the NNPDF national conference this summer.

Owen's a stud. Walking has become his preferred method of travel and I'm loving it. He's mastered the "controlled fall" so he's not smacking his head on the floor if he takes a spill. On sunny days I'll take him outside and we walk circles in the yard. We blow bubbles and he laughs when I pop them. The dogs enjoy his company and give him sloppy kisses. One of my favorite things that Owen has learned is sharing. He'll pick an object up and hand it to us with a big smile on his face. Or better yet, he'll offer us food. It's cute but gross.. his hands are often slimy from drool and smashed food (see picture below), so it's hard to accept food from him. But we take it anyway and pretend to eat it :)

I had been looking forward to a few weekends of having nothing to do, but May seems to have filled up. Maybe June will be the month I can slow down a bit...

Good luck with the slowing down thing. I have never been so busy in my life!
