One Sophisticated Eater

Owen is 5 months old now. A couple of posts ago I mentioned that it appeared he was going to like peas. Nope, he LOVES them. Pears were next which he loved as well, and now we're on to squash. I can't stand the way it smells but he doesn't seem to care at all because he can't get enough. He's very passionate about his eating and really gets into it. Which means I have to do everything in my power to not let him make a mess. (Chris lets him make a mess.) However today I must give myself credit because I decided to give him the spoon and let him play. Yep, he smeared the squash all over but it was fun to watch. I could only stand about 5 minutes before the mess was driving me crazy though. The Big Guy also insists on holding his own bottle these days. I packed his small bottles away weeks ago but brought a couple back out since he has trouble holding the big ones.

One things we've noticed in a big way: He is very interested in pizza. He tries to grab it if it's within 3 feet of him. I told him we'd have a pizza party for his 1st birthday.
Owen's trying so hard to crawl. He's got the arm part down and is just starting to figure out the knee part. But he can't put them together just yet. Although he did impress us yesterday when he got himself into the correct position. He moved about 2 inches before he got frustrated.
We're taking a few days off from starting the back yard and decided to put the siding on the shed. We've never done it before but it was easy and looks good. I'll try to get it painted soon. I need to decide if I want to roll it or try my hand at the sprayer.

My sister is working on the Eurodam for a month. They're up in New England for two 10-day runs out of Quebec, and then the ship does a transition cruise to Ft. Lauderdale to start the Caribbean routes. Glad she's not down there now.
