Owen tried peas today. He LOVES carrots, likes apples, wasn't so sure about peaches and seems okay with peas. He's becoming a little more accustomed to the spoon method of eating. However it's still messy and hilarious. So after trying the new food, Owen finally put his foot in his mouth for the first time. His face was priceless. His eyes were wide and he was all smiles.
But the best "first" was the raspberry he blew for Chris! We are always doing them around him and he loves it. He experimented quite a bit before getting it right. He'd put his lips together and make a strange humming noise. Then he'd blow some spit bubbles and stick his tongue out. I couldn't figure out what the heck he was doing until he blew a great raspberry. I laughed my ass off and he continued to do it, with big smiles in between.
We dropped Chris off at the chiropractor today and went to Home Depot to buy boxwoods. (If you need boxwoods or any other small shrubs, Home Depot has nice ones for $2.50 right now. I'm going back for some azaleas tomorrow.) When we got home, Chris and I worked on sprinklers. We're now ready for topsoil, which will be delivered tomorrow morning. Chris' back is still hurting so I'll be doing most of the labor. People offer to help but Chris and I are really bad about taking them up on it. However I might con my dad into coming over. As long as I have chilled champagne on hand, my dad will do anything I ask. (He and Chris drink champagne whenever they are together. They drink it like it's beer. How masculine...)
Make sure to watch the Republican convention. We loved Fred Thompson's fantastic speech tonight and can't wait to hear Sarah Palin speak. The more I learn about her, the more I like her.
