Snow Dogs

The groundhog definitely did not see his shadow today. It was snowing a little earlier and is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow morning. The dogs are definitely fun to watch. Trooper doesn't seem to care much for it because he doesn't like his feet to be wet (which is strange considering that he's such an avid swimmer). However Raven and Apollo are hilarious. They love snowballs...if you throw one at Raven she makes this awkward attempt to catch it in her mouth and it just explodes. Then she will pounce down into the snow and try to find the snowball, not realizing that it no longer exists. Apollo prefers to let his stay intact by not catching it, then picks it up and carries it off so he can eat it. They love to wrestle with each other and dig around. Hopefully we'll get some more snow so we can take them out to play in it more.

Pregnancy stuff...I'm just a few days shy of 7 months. I am still squeezing into my regular pants and while I can still wear regular shirts, I decided to break down and buy some maternity stuff. I went to a shop at the mall and the girl who was working was so sweet. She asked what I was looking for and I said I really didn't know, maybe just a few shirts or something. She said "okay don't get scared...but it's been slow and I'm so bored. If you just go into the dressing room, can I just bring you stuff?" I spent about an hour in there and she must have brought me 30 articles of clothing. I'm not much of a clothes shopper but it was fun to have someone throwing all those clothes at me! I did buy three tops from her, and a few things from other stores. I think maternity tops make me look bigger but that's okay I guess. I still feel more comfortable in jeans and a sweatshirt :)

Some of you may have heard about my ER visit...I'll just touch briefly on it. Our driveway has been pretty icy and I needed to grab something from my car. My dad offered to get it for me but my stubborn side kicked in and I said no, I could take care of it. Well he followed me out to hold onto my arm...I grabbed what I needed and let go of him to shut the car door, and I started to slide backward. If I weren't pregnant I think I could have help my balance, but I tipped forward and fell right on my tummy. My face smacked the pavement and gave me a nice fat lip. My dad felt awful...anyway we didn't want to take any chances so I went to the ER and was hooked up to the fetal monitor for almost 5 hours. Everything is just fine and I've had no problems since. I learned a couple of lessons. A) If someone offers to help you when you are pregnant, take them up on it. There is no reason to be stubborn. B) Pregnant women really ARE clumsy.

Laura will be home in a few days and I'm excited. I was not visibly pregnant when she last saw me so she's in for a surprise :)
